August and May finnaly have their talk. They talk about all of the lies Lily has told and they talk a lot about Lily's mom, Deborah. When the "talk" was all said and done, do you think that Lily would have been better off not knowing about her mother?
Lily needed to find out sooner or later, and she would have probably continued thinking that her mother was a saint until someone told her. And August was definitely the best person to tell her. Image if it was left up to T. Ray to sit down and tell her everything? That wouls have really damaged her.
