Lily's Mother

Lily was told about her mother, Deborah. She had thought that her mother was a perfect person with no flaws who didn't, could never, leave her own daughter. August then tells her that that's not true. T.Ray was right and her mom did leave without her. If you were in Lily's spot, would you feel unwanted and unloved like her or would you be angry and nothing else? Do you think she will ever be the same after this?

Why do you think her mother was so depressed to leave without her own flesh and blood? Was her mom justified in leaving Lily behind?

  1. I think Lily's life will be different, but not necessarily worse. Now, that she knows this, she will be more independent, and at least she doesn't have to wonder about the truth. And even though her mother did leave her, she find out for sure that her mother loved her.
