I read chapter six, and they talked about a statue found by a black man praying to God for freedom. God sent him this statue to help him become free, but I don't really understand the point of her being a statue. I understand that it kept hopes up for the slaves, but why a statue?
I think the statue resembles the height and power of all the black people and society and race.
