In Chapter 14, T. Ray shows up at the pink house when Lily is the only one there. He at first is super angry at her about everything and tells her she will come back home with him. But then after their huge fight, and him thinking she was Deborah the entire time, he decides to leave, without Lily.
He could've left her there because August, Rosaleen and the rest of them showed up and persuaded him so how to let her stay, or he could've gone home because he was happy to finally get rid of Lily. No one really knows exactly why he finally let her stay...
Why do you guys think he let her stay with them?
Maybe because he was calling her Deborah, he realized that that was going to keep happening as she got older, and he didn't want to be constantly reminded of her. I think he is a strong enough man to not let anyone, even the Daughters, make him change his mind. So I don't think that as the case, it was his conscious choice, and I think it had to do with the Lily/Deborah confusion.
